As we researched the global field of experts providing legal guidance in cross-border as well as more traditional bankruptcy matters, the expansive backgrounds of those called on to rescue companies or salvage assets was striking. So were the number of legal professionals playing key roles not in law firms, but at Ernst & Young, FTI, and other like organizations.
One facet that surprised us most was the powerful role litigation finance is playing in insolvencies and restructurings – a trend that will certainly have its moment in these difficult times.
