We’re honored to introduce The 2025 Lawdragon 500 Leading Family Lawyers.

Like a Kris Kristofferson playlist, these advisors help their clients through the noble arc of life, love and loss – from “If you’re feeling salty then I’m your tequila” to “help me make it through the night” and, of course, “freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose.”

We’ve all been there in one way or another, and these are the lawyers who can help you survive it. And hopefully come out the other side with children, businesses, pets, art – whatever you cherish – protected alongside a measure of dignity.

Most of these lawyers specialize in “private client” or “high-net worth” divorce, meaning headline names or massive assets and business interests to be parsed. But they also specialize in everything from Collaborative Divorce to Christian Divorce, LGBTQ+ family matters and Assisted Reproduction Law and International Child Custody disputes. Honored, as well, are lawyers who take care of Trust & Estate planning, and Probate Litigation.

This is our 3^rd edition of The Family 500, first published in 2020, and resumed last year.

We selected this guide in our time-honed process combining robust nominations, independent journalistic research and vetting by colleagues and peers. Members of our permanent Hall of Fame are denoted with an asterisk.

This guide is our most female forward, with 56 percent of those recognized; and 12 percent inclusive.
