The Lawdragon Process

The Lawdragon selection process has been created over 35 years of researching and reporting on the legal profession and creating guides to the most effective legal professionals. Our team brings more than 100 years in the lawyer reporting and information business.

The foundation of our selection is in journalism. We research each guide extensively, studying which lawyers and law practices have had significant impact, including an emphasis on recent matters handled. We accept submissions and review them alongside thousands of candidates we identify and consider for each guide. We also work with editorial advisors in each substantive area to develop the focus of the guide and identify talent.

Selection for The Lawdragon 100 Leading Cayman Lawyers seeks those specialists in the ways of the golden isle of money. Typically practicing for 10 years or more, they will have significant experience on the ground in the Caymans, if not based there.

This is our inaugural edition of the Cayman 100 and we are looking for those lawyers who create, structure and otherwise author the funds held offshore there. We are looking, as well, for the handful of litigators who particularly delight in challenging and otherwise recovering assets from those funds when appropriate. Finally, insolvency and restructuring specialists have been known to have a matter or two in the Caymans, and we’re interested in those, as well. It’s a fascinating mash-up of British and American in the Caribbean, and we can’t think of a better venue to start our reporting on a jurisdiction exclusively outside the U.S.

Lawdragon is proudly inclusive and searches for qualified women, minority, LGBTQ+ and other attorneys who may lend an additional perspective to the heights of dealmaking.
