The Lawdragon Process

The Lawdragon selection process has been created over 30 years of researching and reporting on the legal profession and creating guides to the most effective legal professionals. Our team brings more than 100 years in the lawyer reporting and information business.

The foundation of our selection is in journalism. We research each guide extensively, studying which professionals have had significant impact, including an emphasis on recent matters handled. We encourage submissions – though they are not required – and review them alongside candidates we identify and consider for The Lawdragon 100 Lawyers You Need to Know in South America.

For The Lawdragon 100 Lawyers You Need to Know in South America, we are seeking lawyers who principally practice in South America or whose practice is significantly focused there. We find it typically takes a lawyer a minimum of 10 years to cultivate the level of expertise and respect we seek to recognize.

We are looking for South America-based lawyers who lead the office or critical practices for global firms; U.S., UK and other global lawyers whose disputes, infrastructure, finance, transactional or litigation practice is focused in large part in South America; and on those global lawyers who have played leading roles in major international lawsuits and other transactions originating there.

Lawdragon is an advocate for inclusion in the legal profession and searches extensively for female candidates and others who represent diversity.

Thank you for your interest in Lawdragon.
