Perkins Coie Adds Partner in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (June 19, 2012) – Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Louise Adamson has joined the firm as Partner in the San Francisco office. She joins from K&L Gates.

Adamson focuses her practice on real estate and land development, including the acquisition and disposition, leasing, financing, entitlement, and development of properties, together with related business and corporate matters including entity structure and formation and tax deferred exchanges.

"Louise is an extremely talented attorney with extensive experience in a wide variety of real estate transactional matters, including green leasing, sustainability and LEED certification," said Barbara Schussman, San Francisco Office Managing Partner. "Her talents perfectly complement our land use practice, and are a welcome addition to our office."

Adamson was one of the first attorneys in the U.S. to be certified as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED®-AP) by the U.S. Green Building Council. She also developed a first-of-its-kind green leasing program for a global technology company which not only integrates sustainable building practices but also tracks the LEED rating system through each stage of the lease negotiation process so that the lease itself facilitates LEED certification for the tenant space.

Adamson serves as the Chairman of the City of Orinda Planning Commission and of the American Bar Association’s Green and Sustainable Transactions Committee. She is also a member of the San Francisco Mayor's Green Tenant Task Force.

Adamson joins a California environmental and land use group with extensive counseling and litigation experience in all aspects of land development. The group has worked on many of the highest profile development projects in California, including energy projects; port, rail, airport, water supply, wastewater and other infrastructure projects; hospitals; university campuses; retail, office, industrial and mixed use projects; residential subdivisions and public utility projects. Attorneys in the group author some of the most well-recognized treatises in the field, including Curtin's California Land Use and Planning Law, and the several Continuing Education of the Bar publications, including Practice Under the California Environmental Quality Act, The California Subdivision Map Act and the Development Process, and California Administrative Mandamus.
