PITTSBURGH, Aug. 13 -- Litigator Kimberly Brown has joined Jones Day as a partner in the Pittsburgh Office. Formerly a partner with Thorp Reed & Armstrong LLP, she is a member of the Business and Tort Litigation (USA) Practice focusing on commercial and insurance litigation and the defense of product liability and toxic tort actions.
"Kim is both an outstanding courtroom lawyer and a litigation strategist with experience in key areas of interest to clients here and beyond," said Laura Ellsworth, Partner-in-Charge of the Pittsburgh Office. "Her arrival marks a further expansion of the already formidable litigation powerhouse we've built in Pittsburgh and the Midwest."
Ms. Brown is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County and has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for several years. She served on the Allegheny County Bar Association¹s Board of Governors from 2003 to 2011 and was President of the ACBA from 2009 to 2010.
A graduate of Duke University School of Law (JD 1989), Ms. Brown teaches litigation strategy and planning at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she is an adjunct professor.
Ms. Brown has received the Lynette Norton Award, bestowed by the Pennsylvania Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession, which recognizes female lawyers who excel in litigation and have demonstrated leadership in mentoring female attorneys. In May 2006, she was honored by the Allegheny County Bar Association with The Honorable Carol Los Mansmann Helping Hand Award for her efforts on behalf of women in the legal profession.
