NEW YORK, August 20, 2012 – Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP, one of New York’s top law and government relations firms, is pleased to announce that Thomas P. Mohen has joined the firm as Partner, effective August 1, 2012. Mr. Mohen will work from the Manhattan and Garden City, Long Island offices and continue his more than 25 year practice in the areas of general business matters, employment law and high-stakes commercial litigation.

For more than 25 years Mr. Mohen has represented individuals, businesses, financial institutions and government units, serving as a trusted advisor to senior management. He is well known as a source for strategic advice in “bet-the-company” situations, and his expertise includes corporate and litigation relating to sensitive negotiations, acquisitions, reorganizations, employment and general business matters. Mr. Mohen’s clients span a wide-range of industries and sizes including large financial institutions, middle market industry leaders and long-standing community icons. Notable engagements have involved work with the AIG Insurance Companies, Citigroup Inc., Viking Global Investors LP, Oaktree Capital Management LP, Astor Capital Management LLC, the Mutual of New York Life Insurance Company, Bell Canada, Global Minerals & Metals Corp., IBM Corporation, Novell Inc., Verizon Communications, Trade Supply Group, and General Utilities.
Mr. Mohen is admitted to practice law in the states of New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts and before numerous federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He obtained his A.B. from Boston College in 1979, cum laude, and his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 1982, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi and a full scholarship Trustee Scholar. Committed to his community and the legal profession, Mr. Mohen has served in numerous leadership positions for civic organizations including President of the Grenville Baker Boys and Girls Club (Boys and Girls Clubs of America), Assistant Governor for Rotary International District 7250 and Centennial President of the local Rotary chapter, and President and Trustee of the Board of Education in Locust Valley, New York. In addition, he has served in leadership roles at the American Bar Association including Vice Chair of the Antitrust Law Committee, YLD and Executive Committee Member of the Business Law Section, Chair of the Computer Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association, and Governor of the Guild of Catholic Lawyers of the Archdiocese of New York. Mr. Mohen has lectured around the world and is frequently quoted in the business and legal press and broadcast media. He was formerly a partner in Mohen & Treacy LLP with offices in Manhattan and Locust Valley, NY.
