WHITE PLAINS, NY (December 3, 2012) – Jackson Lewis LLP, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing workplace law firms, is pleased to announce the election of Vincent A. Cino as Chairman effective January 1, 2013. Mr. Cino succeeds Patrick L. Vaccaro, who served as Chairman since 2006 and who will continue his legal practice as a Partner.
“I could not be more pleased with our Partners’ choice of Vincent as our next Chairman,” said Patrick L. Vaccaro. “As the National Director of Litigation and a longtime Management Committee member, Vincent has been tirelessly by my side helping to elevate our firm to substantially new heights. The Partners believe Vincent is uniquely suited to lead Jackson Lewis and I whole-heartedly agree.”
Vincent Cino was unanimously selected by the firm’s Partners at their annual meeting in mid-September. He will be the firm’s fifth Chairman and the first Employment Litigator to hold this position. Mr. Cino has worked closely with Mr. Vaccaro and the firm’s Management Committee to ensure a smooth and efficient leadership transition.
“Under Pat Vaccaro’s leadership, Jackson Lewis has achieved substantial growth and success, including significant expansion of our geographic footprint both domestically and internationally. Thanks to Pat, the firm has achieved unparalleled success and great stability for the future, developed its practice groups and attracted and retained the best labor and employment legal talent available,” said Vincent Cino. “I look forward to following Pat’s path and expanding upon his many accomplishments.”
During Mr. Vaccaro’s tenure, the firm entered into the AmLaw 100 and Global 100 rankings of law firms. He spearheaded the firm’s strategic lateral hiring initiative, focusing on recruiting outstanding employment law practitioners to increase bench strength and add depth to the firm’s practice areas. Since his election in July 2006, Jackson Lewis’ office locations have increased from 21 to 49, attorney headcount doubled from 369 to 735, and the firm’s revenue has grown 100%. And, to broaden and deepen the firm’s global reach, Mr. Vaccaro spearheaded Jackson Lewis’ effort to become a founding member of L&E Global Employers’ Counsel Worldwide, an international alliance of workplace law firms.
Mr. Cino, who has served as the firm’s National Director of Litigation since 2006, has been responsible for coordinating the more than 5000 litigation matters Jackson Lewis handles each year. During Mr. Cino’s tenure, Jackson Lewis was recognized as a “Powerhouse” and “Standout” in employment litigation in the BTI Litigation Outlook Report 2013, and was named the “single highest-ranked firm clients want by their side in employment battles” in the same report in 2011. Additionally, Mr. Cino also serves on the firm’s Management Committee and is Counsel to the firm.
Mr. Cino has vast trial experience, having litigated every conceivable type of employment action in many jurisdictions throughout the United States. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Cino had a distinguished career as Chief of Litigation in the Office of the Essex County Counsel, Assistant Prosecutor for Union County, and in private practice.
Mr. Cino’s trial accomplishments have been widely recognized, with his peers ranking him at the highest level of professional excellence. He has been selected for inclusion in New Jersey Super Lawyers since 2006 and was named a “Leader in his Field” by Chambers USA Legal Guide in 2009 and 2012. In addition, he has been designated as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” and awarded the highest accolade in Martindale-Hubbell, an AV Rating.
Mr. Cino received his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law in 1979 and conducted his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University from which he received a B.A. degree in 1973. He also holds a Master's degree in American Government from Rutgers University in 1974.
