Attorney Joshua Berick Joins Arnold & Porter

NEW YORK, February 5, 2013 -- Arnold & Porter LLP announced today that Joshua Berick has joined the firm’s Corporate and Securities group as a partner in its New York office.  Mr. Berick’s M & A practice has involved a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including leveraged acquisitions, divestitures, stock and asset purchases, private equity and venture capital investments, strategic alliances, joint ventures, equity offerings and general corporate, securities and commercial law matters.

Mr. Berick has successfully handled a number of multi-billion dollar transactions throughout the world for leading global companies known for their presence in the oil and gas, as well as in the power, alternative energy and other infrastructure industries.  His practice has also included the representation of major corporations and private equity firms in their investments across a range of industries, including in the financial services, information technology, and healthcare sectors. Mr. Berick most recently played a key role in a global energy company’s $7 billion acquisition of oil and gas assets in the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and Azerbaijan, and an international insurance company’s sale of its consumer finance businesses in Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

Mr. Berick joins the firm from Linklaters LLP’s New York office.

Mr. Berick received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.  He obtained his B.A., magna cum laude, from Columbia College of Columbia University.
