November 18, 2013…Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Benjamin Carale has joined the firm’s Hong Kong office as counsel in the Corporate Department. Carale has extensive experience in corporate and finance transactions, including international capital markets transactions. He has represented issuers and underwriters in international bond and equity issuances, including MTNs, IPOs, top-up equity placements, rights offerings and block trades.
Dual qualified in New York and in the Philippines, and a registered foreign lawyer in Hong Kong, Carale’s experience working in New York, the Philippines and Hong Kong gives him a unique perspective on international capital markets work.

Carale joins Latham & Watkins from Sidley Austin LLP. He also worked for three years at Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz in New York. Prior to that, he practiced for several years at a Manila law firm and was a member of the faculty at the University of the Philippines College of Law. He received an LLM degree in Corporate Law from New York University School of Law in 2006 and a LLB from the University of the Philippines in 1996.
