NEW YORK – December 16, 2013 – Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP announced today that Jocelyn E. Strauber, former co-chief of the Terrorism & International Narcotics Unit in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, has joined the firm's White Collar Crime Group as counsel in the New York office. Ms. Strauber will represent companies and individuals in criminal and civil enforcement matters.
Ms. Strauber joins Skadden after more than eight years in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. Prior to becoming co-chief of the Terrorism & International Narcotics Unit in 2012, she had served as deputy chief of the unit. Previously, she was a line assistant U.S. attorney in the Criminal Division.
During her time in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Ms. Strauber supervised the successful prosecution of several high-profile terrorism and national security cases, including the prosecutions of attempted Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad, and Mansour Arbabsiar in connection with a conspiracy to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Strauber clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist. She also served as a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General in the U.S. Department of Justice and clerked for Judge A. Raymond Randolph of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Immediately prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Strauber worked as a litigation associate at another highly regarded New York law firm.

A graduate of Brown University, Ms. Strauber received her law degree from Duke University School of Law in 1998.
