Appleby has advised China Hydroelectric Corporation, an owner and operator of small hydroelectric power projects in China, in its merger with CPT Wyndham Holdings Ltd. and CPT Wyndham Holding Sub Ltd., which are affiliates of NewQuest Capital Partners and the funds managed by it. The Appleby team, led by corporate partner Simon Raftopoulos and counsel Benjamin Woolf, served as Cayman Islands legal advisor to China Hydroelectric Corporation.
CPT Wyndham Holdings Ltd. will acquire China Hydroelectric Corporation for US$1.17 per ordinary share or US$3.51 per American Depositary Share, each representing three shares. The merger is currently expected to close during the first half of 2014.
In addition to Mssrs. Raftopoulos and Woolf, the Appleby team included associate Liesl Richter.
