April 28, 2014, Chicago … Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Samuel Isaacson has joined the firm’s Chicago office as a partner in the Litigation Department. Isaacson is the third high-profile litigator to join Latham’s Chicago office this year, following the arrivals of former SEC official John Sikora and first-chair patent litigator David Callahan.
Isaacson’s practice focuses on high-stakes, complex commercial litigation, including securities-related litigation, regulatory investigations, internal investigations and consumer class actions. Isaacson represents issuers, as well as directors and officers, in matters involving shareholder litigation and SEC enforcement actions. He has more than 30 years of experience and will play an integral role in the firm’s securities class action and SEC enforcement defense practices.
“We are pleased to add another accomplished litigator with a strong track record of success to the Chicago office and our litigation practice. Sam has a tremendous and well-deserved reputation for success in high stakes and complex disputes,” said Global Litigation Chair Sean Berkowitz.
“Sam will be a valuable addition to our Chicago office and to our global litigation practice. We are pleased to be able to continue to grow the Chicago office with established and battle-tested litigators like Sam and John Sikora and David Callahan, both of whom joined the Chicago office earlier this year,” said Brad Kotler, Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins in Chicago.
Isaacson also represents a wide range of publicly traded and private companies in the defense of consumer class actions and in other matters of considerable consequence to their core business interests. He has significant experience representing clients across a range of industries, including the insurance, financial, health care and transportation industries.
“Latham is one of the premier litigation firms in the world and I am thrilled to be joining such a strong team here in Chicago. Latham offers a highly integrated litigation platform that works seamlessly across borders and practices, and will provide me with an opportunity to further develop my practice with best-in-class representation in multi-disciplinary matters,” said Isaacson.
Isaacson joins Latham & Watkins from DLA Piper where he was a partner.
Isaacson received his law degree from Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University in 1982. He received his AB from Dickinson College in 1979.
