Noted Chancery Court Litigator Joins Ballard Spahr

WILMINGTON, DE. (May 13, 2014) – David J. Margules, a litigator with 30 years’ experience representing business entities before the Delaware Court of Chancery—the venue for the nation’s most complex and significant corporate litigation—has joined Ballard Spahr as a partner in the firm’s Wilmington office, firm Chair Mark Stewart announced today.

Mr. Margules represents plaintiffs and defendants in matters including fiduciary duty claims, corporate valuation proceedings, corporate and partnership control issues, and insurance coverage defense. His arrival strengthens the firm’s litigation practice in the Court of Chancery and is the latest development in the continuing expansion of its national litigation team.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Margules was a partner at Bouchard Margules & Friedlander, a Wilmington litigation boutique that recently reorganized after its Managing Partner, Andre G. Bouchard, withdrew to become Chancellor of the Court of Chancery. At Ballard Spahr, Mr. Margules is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and its Commercial Litigation, Appellate, and Mergers and Acquisitions/Private Equity Groups.
