HOUSTON, May 27 -- The global law firm Jones Day has announced that Jeff Dinerstein and Arthur Nathan have joined the Firm's Houston Office as partners in its M&A Practice. Mr. Dinerstein and Mr. Nathan were previously partners in the Houston office of Haynes and Boone, LLP, where Mr. Dinerstein was co-head of that firm's Mergers and Acquisitions Practice.

Mr. Dinerstein represents public and private companies in mergers, sales, acquisitions, and other corporate matters. He has significant experience representing private equity funds and portfolio companies in both acquisitions and sales of their businesses. Mr. Dinerstein also has represented buyers and sellers in sale of business transactions in a wide range of industries in the U.S., Europe, and the former Soviet Union, and individuals and entities with regard to the tax issues related to their businesses, including advising clients on the tax aspects of taxable and tax-free mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and reorganizations.
Mr. Nathan has more than 38 years of experience in structuring, negotiating, and handling mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, leveraged buyouts, tax-free reorganizations, private equity transactions, partnership and limited liability company transactions, and corporate split ups. In addition, he has extensive experience in connection with shareholder and other business owner disputes. He also has significant experience with transaction-related tax issues. Mr. Nathan was a member of the Board of Directors of Haynes and Boone from 2002 through 2012, and is one of the original partners who opened that firm's Houston office in 1990.
Mr. Dinerstein is a graduate of New York University School of Law (LL.M., Taxation), and earned his J.D. from Washington University where he was Articles Editor of Washington University Law Quarterly. He graduated from Tulane University with a B.S.M., magna cum laude.
Mr. Nathan earned his J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law (with honors, Order of the Coif), and his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin (Phi Beta Kappa).
