June 17, 2014 Los Angeles … Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce that Scott A. McPhee has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the Finance Department. McPhee's practice focuses on real estate finance, with a particular emphasis on representing institutional lenders and investors in connection with first mortgage lending, mezzanine loans and other subordinated interests, syndicated credit facilities, repurchase and warehouse facilities, and construction lending.
McPhee has spent more than 15 years involved in real estate ownership, development and finance – including within the sector as a project manager and in-house counsel, and as a law firm attorney representing financial institutions, investors, property owners and developers. He joins from Morrison & Foerster LLP, where he was a partner.
“Scott is well-known and highly regarded in the real estate community in Los Angeles, and he also maintains a national practice advising some of the leading real estate players in the nation. McPhee received his law degree from Loyola Law School in 1998. He joined Morrison & Foerster after law school in 1998 and was an associate there until leaving in January 2005 to become Vice President/Senior Counsel at Countrywide Commercial Real Estate. He rejoined Morrison & Foerster in March 2006 and was named a partner in January 2007.
