MEMPHIS, TN (September 18, 2014) -- Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the largest workplace law firms in the world representing management, is pleased to announce Colby Shannon Morgan, Jr. has joined the firm’s Memphis office as Of Counsel. Mr. Morgan, who joins Jackson Lewis from the Litigation Department at Federal Express (FedEx), brings to the firm over 30 years of trial experience.

Mr. Morgan served as Managing Attorney and Senior Counsel at FedEx in the company’s employment litigation group. He has handled a large volume of federal and state lawsuits, as well as administrative proceedings, for many years. Mr. Morgan’s expertise includes all forms of discrimination and disability litigation, denial of benefits matters, qualified domestic relations orders, mediation, EEOC class actions, bankruptcy and appellate practice. He has also litigated non-compete and unfair competition claims, franchise liability, products liability, workers compensation and insurance-related matters. During his time at FedEx, Mr. Morgan received several awards for his litigation successes, including the Five Star award - FedEx’s highest honor - as well as multiple Bravo Zulu awards and a “Star Rating” for outstanding performance.
Mr. Morgan is a member of the Board of the National Hispanic Professional Organization in Memphis, and recently served on the Board of Su Casa Family Ministries. He also participates as a Volunteer Attorney at the Community Legal Center, where he has handled immigration matters. Mr. Morgan is a past president and National Trustee of the Tennessee Sons of the American Revolution, which has awarded him the Patriot Medal—the highest award given for long, faithful and outstanding service.
Mr. Morgan is admitted to practice in New York and Tennessee, the United States Supreme Court, and many federal courts. He received his A.B. from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School.
