MEXICO CITY/MONTERREY, MEXICO, 10 November 2014 – Hogan Lovells BSTL is pleased to announce that Rene Arce Lozano will join the firm as a Finance partner in the International Debt Capital Markets practice area. Arce will be joined by a team of five Finance associates.
This strategic move represents a significant addition just three months after Hogan Lovells BSTL’s launch in Mexico. Arce will be based in Monterrey and will often be working out of the Mexico City office as well. Arce’s team will be distributed in the two offices, with four associates based in Monterrey, while another associate will be located in Mexico City. Arce and his team will integrate with Hogan Lovells BSTL on 1 January 2015.
“Rene and his team will significantly enhance the International Finance capabilities we offer clients in Mexico as well as those international companies taking advantage of opportunities in the region,” said Juan Francisco Torres Landa, Managing Partner of Hogan Lovells BSTL. “Rene has demonstrated experience leading teams and is also a well-respected legal advisor throughout Mexico, particularly in the banking and local government communities.”
Mario Jorge Yañez Vega and Guillermo Gonzalez Frankenberger, who currently lead the Monterrey office of Hogan Lovells BSTL, added:
“The addition of Rene and his team will broaden the range of services and industries that we cover from our Monterrey office. This development shows the commitment that Hogan Lovells has to stay as the premier global law firm in Mexico.”
Before joining Hogan Lovells BSTL Arce has been practicing out of his own boutique firm. Arce’s practice focuses on sophisticated financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law. He regularly represents clients (lenders, private entities, and local governments) in complex structured finance and securitization transactions.
“I am looking forward to joining Hogan Lovells BSTL; the firm’s momentum is quickly amassing across Mexico,” said Arce. “My practice is complemented perfectly by a number of the firm’s well-recognized global practice areas including litigation, energy, and M&A among others.”
Arce earned an L.L.M. degree from the Washington College of Law of the American University and a J.D. from Facultad Libre de Derecho de Monterrey.
