Wilmington, DE, January 5, 2015 - Potter Anderson, a leading provider of Delaware Legal Services, announces that Michael B. Tumas will begin a three-year term as Chair of Potter Anderson's Executive Committee, the firm's governing body, effective January 1, 2015.
Over the course of his three decades at Potter Anderson, Mr. Tumas has held a number of significant management positions. Most recently, he served as member-at-large on the firm’s Executive Committee and as a member of the firm’s Finance Committee. He previously served as chair of the firm's Corporate Practice Group.
In his own active corporate law practice, Mr. Tumas concentrates on mergers and acquisitions, issues of internal governance, and commercial transactions involving Delaware corporations. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve as Chair of Potter Anderson. Under Don Wolfe’s recent leadership, we were able to expand the firm in important ways, including opening an office in Dover last June,” said Mr. Tumas. “We have a long and distinguished history of serving local, national and international clients’ needs for Delaware-based legal services. Together with our new Executive Committee, we are committed to leading the firm forward as we continue to enhance and expand our capabilities to meet our clients’ increasingly complex needs.”
The firm's partners also elected Stephen C. Norman, David E. Moore, Matthew J. O'Toole and Kathleen Furey McDonough to the Executive Committee. Mr. Norman, Mr. Moore, and Mr. O'Toole will chair the firm's Corporate, Litigation, and Business groups, respectively. Ms. McDonough, who is the founder and head of the firm's Employment and Labor practice, will serve as member-at-large.
The firm also congratulates Matthew F. Davis on his recent promotion to partner.
