Houston, TX – McGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce the addition of intellectual property attorneys Tenley Krueger and Chris Nichols. Krueger is Of Counsel in the firm’s Houston office, and Nichols is an Associate in the firm’s Baton Rouge office.
Both Krueger and Nichols bring to the firm extensive backgrounds working with chemical patents, which will complement McGlinchey Stafford’s team of more than a dozen IP attorneys who represent global oil & gas clients, fine chemical companies, and other industries on a broad range of IP matters.
“We’re excited to expand our IP team with these qualified attorneys,” said Drew Patty, head of McGlinchey Stafford’s IP practice. “Their significant experience in patents and related IP matters, especially for chemical and oil field services clients, will bolster our practice in the Gulf region and throughout the country.”
Krueger has more than 13 years of experience in all phases of domestic and international patent practice and management, including patent procurement, licensing, contract drafting and negotiation, client counseling, opinion work, litigation management and development, as well as implementation of intellectual property strategies. She has in-house and outside counsel experience working with clients in the oil field services industry, polymer science, refinery operations, petrochemical processing, and semiconductor processing. Krueger received her J.D. from Tulane University Law School in 2001, and her B.S. in Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Refining from Colorado School of Mines in 1998.
Nichols, a former patent examiner with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, has experience in a wide range of technologies, including chemical, mechanical, electrical, software and computer-implemented arts. Prior to practicing law, Nichols was a professional engineer who managed process design projects for oil refineries, gas processing facilities and chemical plants. He received his J.D. and B.C.L. from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2007, and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University in 2002.
