SDNY Federal Prosecutor Joins Schiff Hardin

CHICAGO – Schiff Hardin LLP is pleased to announce that Ryan P. Poscablo has joined the firm’s New York office as a litigation partner.  Mr. Poscablo will focus his practice on complex civil litigation, corporate internal investigations, white collar criminal defense and cybersecurity.

Before joining Schiff Hardin, Mr. Poscablo served for nearly six years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York (SDNY).  An experienced trial attorney, he has also briefed and argued numerous cases before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.  He led investigations in all areas of federal criminal law, including bank, wire, mortgage and tax fraud, credit card fraud and identity theft, racketeering, money laundering, cybersecurity, terrorism offenses, and violent crime.

Mr. Poscablo served as a member of the SDNY’s distinguished Violent Crimes unit, and also prosecuted several high profile cases supervised by the Complex Frauds and Terrorism units.  In addition to prosecuting gang members and drug dealers, he was the lead prosecutor in the case against Luis Pena Soltren, who in 1968 helped hijack a Pan American airplane headed for Puerto Rico, diverting the plane to Cuba.

Mr. Poscablo graduated from Fordham University School of Law (J.D., 2001), Harvard University (M.P.P., 1998), and Columbia University (B.A., Political Science, 1995).  He also clerked for the Honorable Stanley R. Chesler, USDJ, District of New Jersey, and the Honorable George B. Daniels, USDJ, Southern District of New York.
