WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 12, 2015) - Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Fabricio Vayra has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property practice as a partner in the Washington, D. C. office. He focuses on trademark, Internet policy issues, and domain name counseling and enforcement. He was most recently Assistant General Counsel-Intellectual Property with Time Warner Inc. where he spent nearly a decade advising upper management on intellectual property and Internet policy issues as applied to emerging business models, new technologies, digital media, and enforcement strategies.
Fab, as he is known among his industry peers, advises corporate clients on comprehensive trademark programs, intellectual property enforcement strategies, domain name issues, and Internet governance policy strategies and related regulatory advocacy. In addition, he has managed corporate restructuring issues pertaining to trademarks and related license, acquisition and/or divestiture negotiations and agreements.
A prominent leader in IP–related industry groups, Fab serves as chair of the Internet Committee of the International Trademark Association (“INTA”). He previously served on the Board and Executive Committee of INTA, on the Expert Working Group on gTLD Directory Services of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (“ICANN”) and on the advisory board of the mobile brand protection group, AppDetex. For the better part of the last decade, he has been intimately involved in the policy debates and stakeholder negotiations relating to expanding the Internet through additional top-level domains (TLDs). Fab earned his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and received his B.A. from George Mason University.
