CHICAGO, April 14, 2015 – Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Rebecca M. Shanaman as an associate counsel in the Real Estate practice group and Calida A. Taylor as an associate in the Corporate & Securities group.
Shanaman focuses her practice on commercial real estate acquisitions and sales, and commercial leasing. She has drafted and negotiated complex office and retail leases on behalf of institutional landlords and tenants, and has counseled commercial landlords on a variety of tenant-related issues.
Shanaman has acted as lead attorney in all stages of commercial real estate acquisitions, from drafting letters of intent to closing.
She earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she was a member of the Public Interest Law Society. She earned her B.A. from LaSalle University. Prior to joining Neal Gerber Eisenberg, Shanaman was an associate at McCarthy Duffy LLP.
Taylor has experience handling complex civil litigation in state and federal courts. Her experience includes mergers and acquisitions, private offerings of equity securities and commercial agreements. She has advised clients on federal securities laws and corporate governance requirements.
Taylor has been named a Rising Star in General Litigation by Illinois Super Lawyers. She earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Princeton University. She is a member of both the Illinois and New York Bar.
Prior to joining Neal Gerber Eisenberg, Taylor was an associate at Schiff Hardin LLP. She also previously served as a law clerk for The Honorable Michael M. Mihm, U.S. District Court Judge for the Central District of Illinois.
