Steven Pflaum Named Chair of Neal Gerber's Commercial Litigation Group

CHICAGO, August 10, 2015 – Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP is pleased to announce Steven F. Pflaum has assumed the role of chair of the firm’s General and Commercial Litigation practice group.

Pflaum has been a partner at Neal Gerber Eisenberg since 2010, with a national trial and appellate practice that encompasses a wide range of complex civil litigation matters, including commercial, constitutional, hospital, media, airport and land use cases. He also advises lawyers and law firms, and serves as an expert witness, on legal ethics and professional liability issues.

Fisher, who will assume the role of firm managing partner, effective Jan. 1, 2016. “Steve’s incredible depth of experience and innate leadership skills make him the ideal candidate to guide the group into the future.”

Throughout his career, Pflaum has been extremely involved in the greater legal community. He is the immediate past President of the Appellate Lawyers Association, a two-term chair of the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Professional Responsibility, a founding member and current chair of the Illinois Judicial Ethics Committee, and the former General Counsel of The Chicago Bar Association. Pflaum is also deeply involved in issues concerning equal access to legal representation and serves as chair of the Neal Gerber Eisenberg’s Pro Bono Committee.

Pflaum, who earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Michigan Law School, has repeatedly been recognized as a leader in his field. He was selected by his peers as the “Lawyer of the Year” in the 2015 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the category of Chicago Litigation – Regulatory Enforcement (SEC, Telecom, Energy). He is also listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Leading Lawyers Network and Illinois Super Lawyers.
