McGlinchey Stafford Expands Litigation Practice

NEW YORK, September 24, 2015—McGlinchey Stafford PLLC is pleased to announce the addition of Brian S. McGrath, Of Counsel, and Ashley R. Newman, Associate, to the firm's New York City office and Commercial Litigation practice.

"This duo brings nearly 20 combined years of experience representing financial services sector clients in a broad range of matters. McGrath represents companies in complex commercial litigation, with a focus on financial services litigation, intellectual property litigation, antitrust litigation, and white collar criminal investigations. His background also includes representing clients in high-stakes commercial litigation matters in a variety of business sectors, including landmark biotechnology patent litigation. A 2000 graduate of The State University of New York, University at Buffalo Law School, McGrath also previously served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office.

Newman focuses her practice on general commercial litigation and arbitration surrounding breach of contract claims, business interruption, construction defects, insurance coverage disputes, as well as on financial services litigation. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, in 2011.

McGlinchey Stafford’s New York City office was established in 2014 to better serve the legal needs of key clients in the areas of financial services, business, and general civil litigation, as well as to expand the firm’s footprint in the Northeast. McGlinchey Stafford's New York City office has grown by six attorneys in 2015 to its current headcount of 12 attorneys following the addition of McGrath and Newman. The firm also has an office in Albany.
