CHICAGO, Ill. (November 30, 2015) — The law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP and its firm chair Kimberly Leach Johnson today announced that partner Paul L. Langer has been selected as the new Chicago office managing partner. His term begins on December 1, 2015. Click here for his video comments about his new role. Paul succeeds Theodore (Ted) I. Yi, who led the office for five years while simultaneously serving on the firm's Executive Committee. Yi will continue to serve on the Executive Committee while devoting more time to his practice in the Real Estate Practice Group full time.

Langer is a partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group and Insurance Coverage Litigation Team. He practices in the area of insurance coverage, general commercial litigation, product liability, and class actions, providing counsel to a broad range of corporate clients in federal and state courts across the country. Langer also has significant experience representing policyholders in various areas, including commercial liability policy disputes involving environmental, product liability, toxic tort, antitrust, intellectual property and construction defect claims; coverage disputes involving health care entities, managed care claims, ERISA and fiduciary duty claims; and employment practices liabilities policy disputes involving discrimination, sexual harassment, termination, and unfair labor practices claims. He has been listed in Chambers USA®Illinois Super Lawyers®, and The Best Lawyers in America®.  In addition to participating in several civic organizations, Paul serves as a member of the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

Yi is a partner in the firm's Real Estate Practice Group. He has extensive and varied experience with a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, with a particular focus on commercial lease transactions representing both owners and users of office, retail, and industrial properties. He represents institutional landlords, including insurance companies, pension funds, and real estate investment trusts (REITs), as well as users of properties, including users of technically complex space such as trading floors and data centers. In particular, he has represented a number of Fortune 250 corporations in connection with relocations of their corporate headquarters. The Harvard University Law School graduate is also an Illinois Super Lawyers "Best of the Best," being one of 100 attorneys who received the highest point totals in the Illinois nomination, research, and blue ribbon review process.
