Bilzin Sumberg Adds Joshua Stone to Corporate Group

Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that Joshua M. Stone has joined the Firm as a Partner in Bilzin Sumberg's Corporate Group. Josh joins the Firm after serving for five years as general counsel and chief compliance officer to the manager of a family of hedge funds and long-only funds, and brings with him over 15 years of corporate legal experience.

Josh's work focuses on forming private funds and advising on regulations affecting investment advisers. He regularly handles M&A transactions, venture capital investments, and corporate governance and securities work. Josh also has experience in secured lending, advising startup businesses, and working with funds in distressed situations.

Josh has extensive international experience, handling transactions involving emerging and frontier markets, as well as developed markets globally. He has worked with brokers, custodians, and derivatives counterparties to help clients gain access to securities markets around the world. Josh is well-versed in Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) rules affecting investment advisory firms.

Josh started his career in New York. During his tenure with leading law firms in New York and Miami, Josh worked with some of the largest and best known fund managers in the private investment fund space. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
