HOUSTON, TX, October 12, 2016 – Gardere is pleased to announce that Timothy M. Spear has been named co-chair of the Firm’s energy industry team, effective immediately. Mr. Spear was unanimously selected by the Firm’s Energy Industry Planning Committee to co-lead the group alongside co-chair Douglas K. Eyberg.
“Tim’s insight and knowledge of the energy industry will be an asset to further enhancing the group’s footprint in the energy market,” says Mr. Eyberg. “He is well-respected by both his colleagues and clients, and I look forward to leading the group by his side.”
Mr. Spear, whose practice focuses on acquisitions, divestitures and financing of energy and infrastructure projects, has worked as the lead external counsel on a number of oil and gas transactions with sale prices in excess of $1 billion. He also frequently assists on workouts, restructurings and distressed debt transactions for banks and corporate clients, as well as private equity funds and hedge funds.
Gardere’s cross-disciplinary energy team has approximately 80 attorneys who work with clients both domestically and abroad in the upstream, midstream, downstream, power and alternative energy sectors.
