NEW YORK – January 3, 2017 – Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP announced today that leading trusts and estates attorney Amy E. Heller has joined the firm's Trusts and Estates Group as a partner in the New York office.
Ms. Heller, previously a partner at another international law firm, handles a wide range of domestic and international tax and estate planning matters, with particular experience advising international families on inbound investments and wealth transfers and U.S. families on their holdings abroad. She advises business leaders and corporate executives in all aspects of estate planning, including the transfer and preservation of wealth, business succession planning, and issues that may arise in connection with M&A or corporate finance transactions.

Ms. Heller is a Fellow of the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel and a frequent lecturer at the Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning. She also is an adjunct professor at the New York University School of Law, where she teaches Income Taxation of Trusts and Estates.
Ms. Heller received her B.A. from Harvard University magna cum laude in 1997 and her J.D. from Harvard Law School cum laude in 2002. She also received an LL.M. in Taxation from NYU Law School in 2008.
