MIAMI – July 24, 2019 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. has added ShareholdersMichael G. Taylor and Michael E. Strauch in the firm’s Miami office. Taylor rejoins the firm as a shareholder in the Corporate Practice, while Strauch is a shareholder in the firm’s Litigation Practice.
“Our Miami office’s legacy of maintaining a strong bench of top notch attorneys who can handle the most transformative and critical corporate matters continues. We look forward to fully integrating them into our South Florida team, as we continue to handle the region’s top cases and deals,” said Greenberg Traurig Miami office Co-Managing Shareholder Jaret L. Davis.
Fellow Miami office Co-Managing Shareholder Yosbel A. Ibarra added: “Taylor and Strauch are both strong examples of Greenberg Traurig’s ability to attract talented lawyers, who demonstrate our commitment to client service, and our focus on excellence – all of which have been part of the firm’s mission since its founding.”
Taylor comes to Greenberg Traurig from Holland & Knight's Portland, Oregon office, where he spent about 13 years in the firm’s Corporate practice, first as senior counsel and then as a partner. Prior to that, he served as the assistant general counsel of an early stage medical technologies company, and was an associate in Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office from 1997-2000. He has a broad background in corporate transactions, with a primary emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, corporate finance, and corporate governance.
“I am very pleased to return home to Greenberg Traurig, which has an admirable reputation for exceptional legal skill and service,” Taylor said. “As part of the firm’s Corporate team, I look forward to the opportunity to leverage Greenberg Traurig’s global platform to provide my clients with the service they need to address their business growth needs and challenges.”
Taylor received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, his M.A. in Public Policy from The University of Chicago, and his B.A. in Economics with distinction from Stanford University. While at the University of Chicago, he was a McCormick Tribune Leadership Fellow.
Strauch, who joins the firm from Bilzin Sumberg and was previously a partner at Carlton Fields, is an experienced trial lawyer focused on commercial, finance, real estate, and banking disputes. He has represented Fortune 100 and 500 companies, including some of the world's leading financial institutions and loan servicing companies, in complex litigation matters. Strauch has handled hundreds of business disputes, both in state and federal court.
“Joining Greenberg Traurig offers my clients what elite business leaders are looking for: a law firm with an impressive breadth of legal talent in virtually every area of law,” Strauch said. “The firm’s global platform offers expertise and offices in all of the most important business centers nationally and throughout the world, which allows us to provide a holistic approach to serving client needs.”
He received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, an M.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, and a B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Maryland.
The newest additions at Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office follow the arrival earlier this month of veteran litigator Michael N. Kreitzer, who has more than three decades of experience representing national and international businesses and prominent individuals in their most consequential disputes. He joined as a shareholder in the firm’s Miami office, following more than a decade as the former chair of Bilzin Sumberg’s Litigation Group.
