Fish & Richardson Promotes 15 Attorneys

Boston, MA, January 24, 2013 – Fish & Richardson today announced that 15 attorneys have been named principals at the firm.  The new Fish IP Litigation Group principals are Gregory Booker (Delaware), Susan Morrison Coletti (Delaware), Scott Elengold (Washington, D.C.), Jonathan Lamberson (Silicon Valley), Wasif Qureshi (Houston), Britnee Reamy (Dallas), Whitney Reichel (Boston), Kevin Su (Boston), and Chad Walker (Dallas). The new principals in the Patent Group are Markus Coehn (Munich), Dr. Christine Goddard (Boston), Dr. Susanne Hoff Goodson (Delaware), and Dr. Tony Zhang (New York).  The new principal in the Trademark and Copyright Group is Kristen McCallion (New York).  The new principal in the Regulatory and Government Affairs Group is Kevin Cookler (Washington, D.C.).

Gregory Booker will continue to focus his practice on patent litigation in the areas of materials science, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.  He received his J.D., cum laude, from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2005, his M.S. in materials engineering in 2002, and his B.S.E, cum laude, in bioengineering and materials science engineering in 1997.

Markus Coehn will continue to focus his practice on patent prosecution related to pharmaceuticals at all stages of drug development, medical devices, biotech inventions and high-performance polymers for the automotive industry, and patent litigation related to opposition cases before the EPO and nullity actions before the German Federal Patent Court and German Federal Supreme Court.  He received his patent law degree from FernUniversität Hagen in 2008, his diploma in chemistry in 2002, and his B.S., with honors, in chemistry in 1998.

Susan Morrison Coletti will continue to focus her practice on patent litigation across a full range of technologies, and she will also continue to build on her extensive experience in Hatch-Waxman litigation.  She received her J.D., summa cum laude, from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2005 and her B.S., with high honors, in cell biology in 2001.

Kevin Cookler will continue to focus his practice on telecommunications law and regulation, including licensing, compliance, and policy matters related to commercial and private wireless licensees, electric utilities, cable providers, and emerging technology companies.  He advises on issues such as spectrum acquisition, corporate transactions, pole attachments, tower siting, and environmental and historic preservation compliance.  He received his J.D., with honors, from George Washington University Law School in 2002 and his B.A. in 1999.

Scott Elengold will continue to focus his practice on patent litigation in federal appellate and district courts and before the United States International Trade Commission across a broad range of technical areas including computer hardware and software, wireless telecommunications, microprocessors, hybrid vehicles, and internet technologies.  He has also been appointed recruiting principal for the Washington, D.C. office.  Mr. Elengold received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2005 and his B.A. in computer science and economics in 1999.

Dr. Christine Goddard has significant experience in patent prosecution and client counseling and will continue to focus her practice on strategic patent portfolio development and management, including the identification and protection of potentially valuable technology, prioritization and allocation of patent costs, and maximization of patent value with chemical technologies and in the life sciences field.  She received her J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 2010, her Ph.D. in bio-inorganic chemistry in 1999, and her S.B. in chemistry in 1993.

Dr. Susanne Hoff Goodson will continue to focus her practice on client counseling and strategic portfolio development, patent opinions, due diligence, freedom-to-operate opinions, and patent prosecution in the small-molecule pharmaceutical, life sciences, and chemical arts sectors. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2005, her Ph.D. in chemistry in 1997, and her B.S., magna cum laude, in chemistry in 1990.

Jonathan Lamberson will continue to focus his practice on patent litigation in the areas of computer software, hardware, and networks and the Internet.  He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2005 and his B.S., summa cum laude, in computer engineering in 2001.

Kristen McCallion is co-chair of the firm’s Copyright Practice Group and will continue to focus her practice on trademark, copyright, trade dress, and unfair competition litigation as well as transactional and prosecution matters for the new media and entertainment, consumer products, and Internet sectors.  Recently, McCallion was featured in The New York Times Magazine as a Top Woman Attorney in the New York Metro Area (December 2012).  She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 2005 and her B.A. in English and art history in 1996.

Wasif Qureshi will continue to focus his practice on complex patent litigation across various technical disciplines, with particular emphasis on computer software and hardware, integrated circuit design, telecommunications, semiconductor fabrication, and Internet technologies.  He received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2004 and his B.S., with honors, in electrical and computer engineering.

Britnee Reamy will continue to focus her practice on patent litigation across a broad range of technical areas, including chemicals, chemical processes, consumer products, computer hardware and software, Internet technologies, and wireless telecommunications.  She received her J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2005 and her B.S. in chemical engineering in 2001.

Whitney Reichel will continue to focus her practice on patent litigation in the areas of electrical engineering and electrical and computer technologies.  She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 2005 and her B.S. in electrical engineering in 2002.

Kevin Su will continue to focus his practice on patent litigation in federal courts and before the United States International Trade Commission in the area of electrical and computer-related technologies.  He received his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 2005 and his B.S.E. in computer science engineering in 2002.

Chad Walker will continue to focus his practice on patent litigation, qui tam/whistleblower litigation, business litigation, and complex litigation.  He received his J.D., with high honors, Order of the Coif, from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 2005 and his B.A., summa cum laude, with concentrations in computer science, mathematics, and ancient Greek.

Dr. Tony Zhang will continue to focus his practice on patent prosecution and counseling, opinion work, due diligence studies, and development and management of patent portfolios in various technologies, including pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals (e.g., herbal extracts), drug formulations, chemical synthetic methods, nanotechnologies, medical devices (e.g., stents, biosensors, biochips), fuel cells, solar cells, catalysts, semiconductor materials, and polymers.  He received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 2007, his Ph.D. in chemistry in 2001, and his B.S. in chemistry in 1996.
