Littler Hires Nationally-Recognized Attorney

KANSAS CITY, MO (April 23, 2013) – Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, today announced the addition of seven attorneys across multiple offices throughout the U.S., led by renowned labor and employment practitioner Don Prophete, who will be a shareholder in the firm’s Kansas City office. The group joins Littler from Ogletree Deakins, where Prophete was formerly vice president of the firm and founding partner of its Kansas City office.

Prophete is joining with six other shareholders in Littler’s Boston, Denver, Kansas City, New York and St. Louis offices. The group includes the following:

Prophete and his team follow two high profile additions of Maurice Baskin in Littler’s Washington, D.C. office and Jeffrey Mintz in the firm’s Atlanta office, who both joined Littler in April.

Prophete focuses his practice on employment litigation, having tried more than 20 cases over the course of his career. He also provides high-level employment counseling to C-suite executives at multinational companies spanning several industries, including retail, hospitality, investment banking, insurance and electric utilities, among others.

While at Ogletree Deakins, Prophete served two, three-year board terms and was vice president during his second third-year term. He sat on the five-member board of directors that drove the firm’s business decisions and was the head of the firm’s diversity committee in 2006 and 2007. Prophete also played an integral role in recruiting many of the firm’s minority lawyers.
