HARTFORD, CT - May 6, 2013 – Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider (“Axinn”) announced today that Chad Landmon, Chair of the firm’s FDA practice group and Co-Chair of the intellectual property practice, has received the 2013 University of Connecticut Honors Distinguished Alumni Award. The award recognizes Honors Scholar alumni every year who have excelled in their profession, or made significant contributions to society or academia. The Award was presented to Mr. Landmon on campus at the Medals Ceremony on Saturday, May 4th.
Mr. Landmon is a nationally-recognized FDA and patent litigator in the pharmaceutical industry. Well-known in the FDA community, Mr. Landmon advocates for clients before the FDA. He has obtained a number of key victories representing clients in suits involving the FDA, including a recent ruling in a case involving client Watson Laboratories that has been cited as the first time a court ever ordered the FDA to approve a marketing application for a drug (WATSON LABORATORIES, INC. v. SEBELIUS, Case 1:12-cv-01344-ABJ (D.D.C.)).
“We are very pleased that Chad has been recognized for his hard work in the complex areas of FDA regulatory and intellectual property matters involving life sciences products,” said James Veltrop, founding partner of Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider, who nominated Mr. Landmon for the award. “We thank UConn for this recognition.”
“It’s an honor to be recognized by my alma matter, which provided a great foundation from which to launch my career” said Mr. Landmon. “I am grateful for the opportunity to return to campus for the Medals Ceremony and interaction with current Honors Scholars.”
Mr. Landmon graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1999, with Honors. He earned his B.A. as an Honors Scholar from the University of Connecticut, graduating in 1996, summa cum laude.
