(Nashville, TN / January 6, 2014) Veteran tax attorneys Steven K. Wood and Julie A. Boswell joined Baker Donelson's Nashville office as members of the Firm's Tax Department effective January 1, 2014.
The addition of Mr. Wood and Ms. Boswell will give Baker Donelson the largest tax law group in Tennessee.

Ms. Boswell and Mr. Wood came from the Brentwood firm of Thrailkill, Harris, Wood & Boswell, whose other named partners retired from the practice of law at year's end.

Mr. Wood, who joined as shareholder, focuses his practice on federal and state income taxation, estate planning and administration, business law (corporate, partnership and limited liability company), and tax-exempt organizations. In addition to representing many clients with their tax, estate planning, and estate and trust administration matters, his clients include several closely-held and family businesses and tax-exempt entities. Mr. Wood previously served as chairman of the Tax Committee and the Estate Planning Committee of the Nashville Bar Association. He is recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Tax Law, Trust and Estates, and Non-Profit/Charities Law, and was named the Best Lawyers' 2013 Nashville Non-Profit/Charities "Lawyer of the Year" and the Best Lawyers' 2012 and 2014 Nashville Tax "Lawyer of the Year."
Ms. Boswell, who joined as of counsel, focuses her practice in the areas of federal taxation, estate planning and administration, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. In addition to wills and trusts, she has advised clients on family limited partnerships, charitable trusts, and private foundations, and has significant experience in structuring partnership and limited liability company agreements and has worked with numerous clients on corporate transactions from the buyer and seller perspectives. Ms. Boswell was named a Rising Star by Mid-South Super Lawyers (2008-2011), and she has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Corporate Law, Tax Law and Trusts and Estates and was named Best Lawyers' 2014 Nashville Corporate Law "Lawyer of the Year." She was selected as a fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation in 2007 and was selected as a fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation in 2010.
