Chicago, January 14, 2014 – The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that five attorneys and two paralegals from the intellectual property law firm Ryndak & Suri LLP have joined the firm’s Intellectual Property practice in Chicago. The attorneys that joined Hinshaw include Ryndak & Suri founder, James D. Ryndak, as well as partners Mark K. Suri and Eric H. Weimers; associates Jeffrey S. Dixon and Roger M. Masson; and paralegals Kathy Burger and Donna Bacso.
“The addition of such a talented team of lawyers illustrates that Hinshaw is a destination for the top talent practicing intellectual property law,” said Donald L. Mrozek, Hinshaw's Chairman. “This group will bolster Hinshaw’s presence with their technical backgrounds in science and engineering and we are excited for the opportunity to build our team with such an experienced group of professionals. We are especially pleased that in addition to their other skills, the Ryndak group adds to our depth in patent litigation and brings a substantial patent prosecution capability and practice as well.”
Hinshaw’s Intellectual Property practice attorneys represent companies across a wide range of industries with transactional and litigation matters involving copyright, patent, trademark and trade secret matters.
Mr. Ryndak commented, “One of the many attractions about Hinshaw is that we now have the ability to offer our existing clients the benefits of working with a full-service, national law firm.” He continued, “Joining Hinshaw will have a synergistic effect for the team as together we are able to provide comprehensive, high-quality intellectual property services across the United States. Our group will provide a comprehensive, full-service patent prosecution capability and practice at Hinshaw, with technical backgrounds including: chemical engineering, chemistry, computer science, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, with a combined total of more than 80 years of experience. At Ryndak & Suri we represented all types of clients, from Fortune 100 companies to individual inventors. Ryndak & Suri for years was named as one of the Fortune 500 Go-To Law Firms® in Intellectual Property, a very select group of firms limited to those that represent the world's leading companies. We also achieved great results for individual inventors, including a $56,000,000 judgment in a patent infringement case. I expect to continue those traditions at Hinshaw.”
Hinshaw’s Intellectual Property practice attorneys are also skilled and experienced litigators. So, where litigation is unavoidable, the firm provides sage legal counsel. Among many other types of cases, the team litigates patent infringement, trademark infringement and dilution, and copyright infringement disputes; represents clients in unfair competition, trade secret, false advertising and right of publicity cases; and counsels clients in computer and internet law cases.
