New York, May 11, 2016 – Lowenstein Sandler LLP announced today that Scott McBride has joined the firm as a partner in its growing White Collar Criminal Defense Practice. Mr. McBride spent more than 10 years in the United States Attorney’s Office in Newark, New Jersey.
Mr. McBride said, “Lowenstein Sandler has added impressive talent in recent years to its white collar team – talent that I’ve often had the opportunity of facing from the other side of the courtroom. I’m excited to join such a tough and tenacious firm with a national reach that works in a wide array of areas, from FCPA cases to securities and health care fraud cases.”
With prior experience investigating and prosecuting criminal offenses in the Health Care & Government Fraud Unit, Mr. McBride most recently served as Deputy Chief of the Economic Crimes Unit in the U.S. Attorney’s Office. In addition to large-scale fraud matters, he has tried cases involving cyber-crime, identity theft, intellectual property-related offenses, tax evasion, and public corruption. He will represent clients in government, securities, and healthcare fraud cases, FCPA violations, and civil business litigation matters.
Michael Himmel, Chair of Lowenstein’s White Collar Criminal Defense Practice, said, “Scott has deep experience in FCPA, health care and securities fraud matters which are all priorities for government authorities. As a result, he’ll be invaluable to our clients. Additionally, Scott’s criminal court experience will serve him well in civil matters. We’re excited to add Scott’s valuable trial skills to our already strong bench.”
Mr. McBride is the eighth former federal prosecutor to join Lowenstein’s Litigation Department. He is also the eighth attorney to join the firm’s White Collar Criminal Defense Practice in the past three years, during which time the practice has nearly doubled. Chris Porrino is among these recent additions, having rejoined the firm after serving as Chief Counsel to Governor Chris Christie following his role as Director of the Division of Law at the New Jersey Attorney General’s office.
Mr. McBride received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and his B.S. from Georgetown University.
